So let me tell you about me, my company and the coaching/personal training position.

My name is Kennett Washington Fitness Expert & one of Charlotte’s best trainers for body transformation. As a Pro Natural Bodybuilder I understand how the body works and how it has the ability to completely transform when feeding and training it properly. I run a private fitness Personal Training and Nutrition Company called Healing Strength Personal Training in Charlotte, NC. As a small and yet still expanding company we can service quite a bit of the Charlotte residents & surrounding areas.

Healing Strength Personal Training was founded on February 21, 1999. Since then we have been helping clients live life to the fullest with proper exercise and nutrition. With our motto “medicine is now in fitness” we have truly redefined client’s lives. What do I mean by redefining the quality of someone’s life? Quality of life is when someone gets a clean bill of health from their doctor, not just physically, but also emotionally, spiritually, and financially. When elite athletes are able to take their game to the next level, teachers who now feel more focused and energized at work, able to give back even more to our young youth, CEO’s, CFO’s, business owners tell me that their performance at work has improved. Healing Strength Personal Training is a personal training company structured to teach our clients how to train their system to respond to a proper individualized program. Training can be done at our location or within the privacy of your own home. All of which allows optimal results and overall benefits to your health. We follow the National Academy of Sports and Medicine (NASM) OPT Model. This model is divided into three different building blocks of the training-stabilization, strength, and power. Within each level contains very specific phases of training.

Based on each unique clients assessment training programs are then designed using the (NASM) OPT Model. We are proud to offer the specialized areas of training in Integrated Core Stabilization, Integrated Neuromuscular Stabilization and Integrated Reactive Neuromuscular. Science and studies has shown this progressive system to be effective in today’s society. With this power and knowledge our certified trainers are dedicated to get their prospective clients the maximum results through proper training, nutrition, and supplementation. We at Healing Strength Personal Training believe in client education and long term client health and success, not unhealthy quick fix fad diets and programs that could be hazardous to our client’s health

I'm looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic person to start training some of our current clients.

We currently offer one-on-one personal training at training center or in home-our luxury level of service, semi private training, nutritional coaching with access to our state of the art on-line nutritional vault, sports specific training all programs are designed from NASM Optimum Performance Training Model (OPT), Women’s only fitness boot camps boot Camp workouts that get amazing results for women, regardless of your age or fitness history. Last but not least HSPT offers core stabilization training which is an essential building block for corrective exercise training (CET). We simply motivate, and support men, women, and teens to improve their health and fitness. All clients go through an complete consult & assessment which involves Circumference Measurements & Skin fold body fat %, Cardio respiratory Assessment, Posture & Movement Assessment, Single Leg Squat Assessment, Push Assessment, Pulling Assessment, & Davis Test Programs are designed around each individual assessment. Most clients begin with an initial 13-16 week training package which includes: nutrition counseling, exercise program design, nutritional & supplements coaching, monthly fitness assessments.

If you are hired for this coaching position, you'll begin coaching clients in the training center 2 - 3 days a week for 3-4 hours per day (a.m. & p.m. hours), Monday, Thru Saturday. These hours & days can change based on the level of demand that is need for both personal training & boot camps.

Bottom line: you’ll get at least 10-15 hours of training clients per week at $15 per hour. You will be paid as an independent contractor, and have the opportunity to move up to $17 dollars (and go full-time) after a 90-day trial period. The training center offers a casual, fun environment, nice training equipment and the opportunity to learn the inner-workings of a successful personal training business.

You will be compensated fairly, treated fairly and I will certainly look for ways to pay you more for your efforts if they warrant it. Tasks You’ll Expected To Perform
  • Develop Comprehensive Health & Fitness Programs For Clients: You'll receive coaching and training on our fitness system and programs, but you'll have flexibility to incorporate your training style and knowledge.

  • Tracking Client Progress: In order to ensure a client's success in our programs, you'll need to track weekly progress, current successes and challenges, review client nutrition and exercise log worksheets and more on a weekly basis. It will be your job to hold a client accountable to his/her health and fitness program to ensure the best results possible.

  • Perform Fitness Evaluations: Ideally, you'll have some fitness assessment skills and can test for: body composition, bodyweight, girth measurements, blood pressure, heart rate and various strength and flexibility tests. You do not need previous experience, but if you do, that's a bonus.

  • Coach clients through 16-week program: You'll be responsible for weekly exercise sessions and keeping detailed weekly progress reports on the clients your working with. If a client is having challenges throughout his/her program, you'll coach and motivate client and make appropriate changes to ensure consistent progress.

  • Demonstrate Proper Exercise Instruction: This is a big one. I need you to be able to provide proper coaching, instruction, and motivation during a client training session. You should have a working knowledge of the human body (i.e. muscles, movements, functions, etc) and be able to provide appropriate exercises for client’s goals.

  • Provide Ongoing Health and Fitness Education: Our clients rely on us to service all of their health and fitness needs. It is your job as a fitness coach to provide your clients with health and fitness education on various topics that will empower them to lead healthy lives forever. You'll be provided with educational tools and resources, will be expected to study them and speak about them with your clients. We also spend time covering this in our weekly staff meetings.
Required Skills

These are the skills you must already have in order to qualify for this position:

  • Good Communication Skills: you will be talking with my clients, who are VERY important to me. You must be comfortable conversing in-person and on the phone and know how to conduct yourself professionally, and deliver clear instructions to the clients. I’ll teach you everything you need to do during a training session, but I can’t teach you manners and professionalism.

  • People skills and personality- must LOVE working with people! As mentioned above you must be very comfortable working with people. This is an exciting studio and you must be able to show your clients energy and excitement while working with them.

  • Health and Fitness Education: You do not need personal training experience, but you should have a working knowledge of health and fitness
Bonus Skills

If you have these additional skills, your resume will go right to the top of the stack (but if you don’t have these skills, you should still apply because these are not mandatory).
  • Previous personal training experience (fitness studio, health club, in-home trainer, etc.)

  • Basic nutrition knowledge

  • National Certification

  • Kinesiology Degree
